Biography

American artist Rebecca Miller PhD, is based in London and San Francisco.

I am a multidisciplinary artist, arts-based researcher, and educator. I work with traditional and computational art mediums. Critical theory, Feminist Technoscience and nomadic practices in creativity, storytelling and the making of meaning are woven into my art practice. I believe in the arts in health movement and that the arts are essential to the health and wellbeing of individuals, society, and the planet.

I am experienced in lecturing and online learning and pedagogy. I specialize in themes of art and computational technology, digital arts-based research, image manipulation, visual culture, and participatory arts-based research. I have exhibited internationally, including Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, SF, Camden Arts Centre, London UK, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery, Deitch Projects, NYC, Galleria Dom Omladine, Beograd, SRB, Southern Exposure, SF, Constance Howard Centre for Textiles, London UK and A.I.R. Gallery NYC. I have participated in art fairs Scope, Aqua NYC, Berliner Liste, Art Forum Berlin and San Francisco International Art Fair. My work resides in many private collections as well as in public including the United States Embassy, Sophia, Bulgaria, the New York Museum of Modern Art Library archives, Make Women's Art Library, Goldsmiths University of London and the Teenage Cancer Trust Macmillan Cancer Centre University College Hospitals London UK.
